Each Monday during the High School season DP is going to announce a player, pitcher & team over the previous seven-day period. The selection process is based on players stats, observations/recommendations from our staff and prep coaches who weigh in with a nomination. This past week, dp was able to lay eyes on quite a few teams across our state mid-year. We look forward to bringing this to you every Monday as we highlight these prospects and a team that perform at a high level. As you know, these selections are never easy, but we will give it our best shot! In a winner-take-all game, Jordan delivered in a big way! He went the distance in a shutout effort versus the BHP Bears on Thursday night. They completed a two-game sweep of Wren HS to punch their ticket to the playoffs for the first time in school history. The Fury ended the season with a region record of 6-4 and reeled off six straight region wins to end the year. Also, they have won their last eight contests overall to end the year with a regular season record of 15-8-1. In his complete game effort, he hurled a no-hitter and lost the perfect game with a two-out walk. He tossed six innings and punched out eight batters with a fastball that topped at 86 MPH and a mid-70’s bender that filled up the zone! -Player of the Week- Macon Leppert – 2025, Blythewood HS, C, Uncommitted: Leppert and the Bengals participated in the Opterra Solutions Invitational and the LHH catcher had a big weekend at the plate! He batted .625 on the weekend where he collected two doubles and drove in three runs! Solid start to the season for this talented junior! -Team of the Week- Catawba Ridge Copperheads – 2024 IP Classic Champions: Though a couple of the game were close calls, the Copperheads left Georgetown Sunday afternoon on a four-game win streak in 2024 and the IP Classic Champions.
