Each week during the High School season DP is going to announce a player, pitcher & team of the week. The selection process is based on players stats, observations/recommendations from our staff and prep coaches who weigh in with a nomination. This week, dp was able to lay eyes on quite a few teams across our state to start the year. We look forward to bringing this to you every week as we highlight these prospects and a team that performs at a high level. As you know, these selections are never easy, but we will give it our best shot! Going forward, coaches who submit a viable candidate certainly helps!

-Pitcher of the Week-

Nolan Clifford – 2025, Phillip Simmons, LHP, Uncommitted: To open region play for the Iron Horses, the southpaw led the team to a 3-0 victory. In his complete game effort, he allowed one hit, three walks and punched out thirteen batters! Congratulations to Noah on being awarded DP’s Pitcher of the Week!

Owen Pridgen – 2024, Laurens, 1B, Southeastern CC signee: A huge week for the senior as he was a key piece of Laurens sweep over Eastside to begin region play. On Monday, he cranked two balls out of the yard in a one run victory. Then on Friday he left the yard once again. On the week he batted .714 with a 2B, 3 HR, 5 R, 3 BB and 9 RBI’s!

Lancaster HS: A big week for the Bruins as they began region play with a three-game sweep of the Northwestern Trojans! They won the first two game 6-3 and 5-0 but the exciting game was Friday night when they were victorious 5-4 in 11 innings! This club is off to a hot start with not only a region record of 3-0, but an overall record of 8-0! Congrats to the Bruins and HC Will Celmer on being named DP’s Team of the Week!
