Each Monday during the High School season DP is going to announce a player, pitcher & team over the previous seven-day period. The selection process is based on players stats, observations/recommendations from our staff and prep coaches who weigh in with a nomination. This past week, dp was able to lay eyes on quite a few teams across our state mid-year. We look forward to bringing this to you every Monday as we highlight these prospects and a team that perform at a high level. As you know, these selections are never easy, but we will give it our best shot! Going forward, coaches who submit a viable candidate certainly helps!

-Pitcher of the Week-

AJ Cammarota – 2024, Blue Ridge, 1B/LHP, Georgia Southern signee: Big week for Cammarota on the bump as he fanned 15 batters in six innings of work. He also only allowed a couple of free passes and two hits as well. To get with his efforts on the mound, he clubbed a HR and batted .625. Congrats to the Georgia Southern signee on winning DP’s Pitcher of the Week!

Jake Amman – 2025, James Island, INF, Uncommitted: Amman had a terrific week for the Trojans in the HIT Tournament. He batted .777 with 2 HR’s, 5 RBI’s, 3 runs and drew a couple of walks. This season, he has terrorized opposing pitching with a season average of .568 with 5 doubles, three home runs and 17 RBI’s. Congrats to Mr. Amman for being tabbed DP’s Player of the Week!

Lexington HS: Over Spring Break, the Wildcats collected their second consecutive crown in the South Carolina Diamond Invitational. En route to the title they defeated: TL Hanna, Cardinal Newman, Dreher and the host team Blythewood in the championship game. Congrats to Lexington HC Brian Hucks and his club for being named DP’s Team of the Week!
