Each week during the High School season DP is going to announce a player, pitcher & team of the week. The selection process is based on players stats, observations/recommendations from our staff and prep coaches who weigh in with a nomination. This week, dp was able to lay eyes on quite a few teams across our state to start the year. We look forward to bringing this to you every week as we highlight these prospects and a team that performs at a high level. As you know, these selections are never easy, but we will give it our best shot! Going forward, coaches who submit a viable candidate certainly helps!
-Pitcher of the Week-
Gabriel Dotterweich – 2024, Hanahan, RHP, Florence-Darlington signee: DP happened to be on hand for the gem this senior threw on the road at Summerville HS. In six innings he surrendered only one hit, no earned runs, walked two batters and punched out 11 batters. From first pitch to his last, Dotterweich was in complete control of the game and was not fazed by the electric environment he was in.

-Player of the Week-
Brody Linker – 2024, Crescent, INF/RHP, Presbyterian signee: Linker is a Swiss army knife for the Tigers and got it done in all facets last week. On the week he was 3-for-7 with a 2B, RBI and a free pass. He played stellar defense all week and in a big win Friday night he also delivered on the mound. In a no-hit bid on Friday night, he punched out 15 in seven innings pitched!

-Team of the Week-
Byrnes HS: A big week for the Rebels as they took best-of-three from the Bulldogs including the rubber match where they won 12-3. Byrnes has raced out to a region record of 5-1 and an overall record of 8-4-1. Congratulations to HC Taylor Hollifield and the Rebels for being named “DP’s Team of the Week”. They will continue region play this week as they square off with the Gaffney Indians.
