Jeffrey Joseph Young, 49, passed away from a heart attack on Friday, July 28, 2017, in Greenville, SC.
Jeff, born in Mariemont, OH, is survived by his wife, Laura Gard Young, and their two daughters, Natalie and Carlie. Jeff is also survived by his mother, Joanne Young O’Connor, his sister, Denise Peters, and his brother Tony Young. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Young.
Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in downtown Greenville will host A “Receiving of Friends” on Friday, August 4th, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. A “Celebration of Life” will follow at Fluor Field at 7:00 p.m. At Jeff’s request, his body has been cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a scholarship fund that has been established for Jeff’s daughters. Scholarship checks should be made payable to: Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan and mailed to Merrill Lynch, Attn: Brian Palisin, 1301 Gervais Street Suite 1500, Columbia, SC 29201.
Jeff Young’s “Baseball Memorial service” will be Friday, August 4 at Fluor Field in Greenville. It will start at 7:00 pm and go until 9:00 pm. Anyone who was impacted by JY personally or through the game of baseball is welcome to come and help celebrate his life, and the legacy he left.
