DP Showcase: Un-signed Senior Event

Recap: DP Un-signed Senior Showcase

By: Austin Alexander-September 23, 2006

Some of South Carolina’s best available talent traveled to Florence’s Legion Field on Saturday to participate in Diamond Prospects’ first event for seniors who have yet to verbally commit.

Right out of the shoot, nine runners turned in 60 times under 7.0 led by Cheraw’s Rhett Stafford. After the defensive workout concluded, batting practice began with Walt Quattlebaum (Dorchester Academy) and Nick Aranas (Lexington) taking top honors on the homerun leader board!

The twelve-inning scrimmage followed with three dingers being hit by Luke Danielewicz (Dorman), Robert Skinner (Hartsville) and Stafford, none of which were cheap. Anthony Markham (Summerville) and Nick Osterman (Stratford) topped out on the radar gun among the 24 pitchers that worked an inning.

But who had the best infield actions and the strongest outfield arm? Who improved their stock the most on Saturday and had BP’s best round? Who does DP list as the top prospects of the day?
