DP spent Sunday at the 10th Annual South Atlantic Border Battle in Holly Springs, North Carolina. My first viewing of this event left me extremely impressed at this well-run operation. Sunny skies and temperatures in the upper-70’s made for a pleasant day at the ballpark to see the New York Mets (SC 2019’s) and the Kansas City Royals (SC 2020’s) compete against the top talent from the neighbouring states of North Carolina and Virginia.
DP would like to give a few high fives to all those who make this event one to remember for the participants. First of all, a big thank you goes to all the major league clubs who provide this opportunity. The chance to put on a professional jersey and play for a professional organization is definitely one for the memory archives. Teams were managed by the area scout of the organization they were playing for and Braves skipper Billy Best (NC 2019’s) stood out for his enthusiasm and unbelievable positivity throughout the game!
A large number of scouts were in attendance for today’s games and were treated to an array of exciting talent! First impressions of Holly Springs, NC and the facility were overwhelmingly positive. A small, quaint town right outside of the Research Triangle, it was a great place to take in two baseball games!
