Yet another great day for hardball. With sunny skies and temps in the upper-60’s the last of three scrimmages dates here in the Upstate concluded at Belton-Honea Path HS on this Saturday. Six teams took the field giving onlookers a snapshot of what their team is bringing to the table in 2017 and for dp, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Five out of the six clubs present were major 5A schools (all but one ranked in the pre-season top 10) and the lone 3A school just came off back-to-back state titles. Out of the 26 players already committed, 15 were D1. We also had 4 top 20 players in the 2017 class including the #1 prospect in the state throwing in Game 1, which brought out a handful of pro guys. All in all, it was a successful inaugural event at the prestigeous playing surface of BHP HS.
