dp Midlands: Midland Eagles @ Yellow Jackets

By: Stuart Lake & Fox Beyer - October 13, 2022
While inclement weather and scheduling conflicts forced the postponement of two games within the MDPFDL, there was still baseball between the Yellow Jackets and Eagles at Coach Strother Sligh Ballpark last night! Thank you to the players, coaches, parents for their flexibility and loyal supp...

By: David Beckley - October 12, 2022
We continued our week five coverage tonight in Goose Creek as we checked in for the first time in the history of our fall league at Stratford High School. Tonight’s matchup featured the Knights 1 team who hosted the Cobras from just down the road. The Knights have a new Skipper in Tony Osterman (“T.O.”) this yea...

dp Grand Strand: Thumpers @ Lions

By: Michael McDonald – October 12, 2022 -Thumpers Blank Lions in Hump Day Night Showdown- On a cool Wednesday night about 15 miles inland from the beach, DP pulled up to Loris High School to watch the Lions host the Thumpers. Loris fields a pretty young team and it was hard to keep up with some of the older more developed talent across the diamond…. The new DP website is here. For all the great DP content, subscribe. dp Greater Rock Hill: Lancers Blue @ Warriors 1 / Falcons Black @ Volunteers Orange

By: Gary Randall – October 11, 2022
The cards dealt this evening (aka schedule) prompted a power scouting move, as it’s called in the pro scouting community, to pick up a game at one location and then move to a different location for a second game. dp Greater Rock Hill: Lancers Blue @ Warriors 1 / Falcons Black @ Volunteers Orange

By: Gary Randall – October 11, 2022 The cards dealt this evening (aka schedule) prompted a power scouting move, as it’s called in the pro scouting community, to pick up a game at one location and then move to a different location for a second game. Sometimes there are third and fourth stops depending on the game start times, whether it’s a hitter or a pitcher that’s the target player(s) and how far the fields are apart. Sometimes the aggressive scouting blows up in our faces, but it’s sweet when it works out reasonably well. This night…it was sweet! Game one landed me at Indian Land HS, my first time seeing a game at the new ILHS campus facility, complete with Coach Hal Bagwell steering the Warrior ship. It was a DH pairing with Lancers Blue and Warriors #1 squared off in the first game. I eyeballed a full 5 innings of that game before heading to Kershaw, SC and Andrew Jackson HS where Falcons Black matched skills against Volunteer Orange. Lancers Blue and Warriors #1 were tied at 5-5 after five innings when I grabbed my work gear heading to the car and Andrew Jackson HS. I’m told on good authority that this game ended with Warriors a run ahead – and that Connor Wallace hit a dinger! In Kershaw, the focus and competitive juices from Falcons Black and Vols Orange were as palpable as I have seen in a DP-GRH Fall League game in some time. Even though pitchers were changed at intervals that wouldn’t happen during a regular season game and some players were moving from this defensive position to that defensive position, it was almost a playoff type atmosphere. Baseballs were being banged around and out of the yard (3) – Landon Peavy 2 (pictured at top) and Gabe Simmons 1 – fine defensive plays were being made and the coaches were In To It! Vols Orange ended up plating two in the bottom of the last inning to grab the “W”                             -Around the dp Greater Rock Hill Horn- Six dp-GRH sites saw action this evening for a total of eight games. Two of the eight game results are mentioned above and, in the second game at Indian Land, Lancers Green topped Warriors #2, and in the first game at AJHS, Volunteer White grabbed a win over Bruins #2. Blue Eagles #2 put a digit in the win column versus Trojans #1. Copperheads #3 won over Trojans #2 and Lancers White over the Eagles. Lastly, the Jr Jackets topped Bearcats #2. *Coming Soon – More Coverage: Prospect Info, Players Worthy of Further Looks, Top Game Performers and Pitcher FB Velocities. Stay tuned…

By: Stuart Lake & Fox Beyer - October 12, 2022
Fall was certainly in the air during a beautiful night of Diamond Prospects Baseball at Dutch Fork Ballpark. One of four games this week slated for a 6 PM first pitch, it was fun to watch the Silver Foxes take on the Redwolves. All players and coaches competed at a very high level, showing that The...
