As we enter the first full week of high school baseball across the state of South Carolina, DP settled in at Grover Field, home the Greenville Red Raiders as they were set to clash with the Mauldin Mavericks. The streak of mild weather in the area continued to hold true as game time temperatures hovered around 60 degrees. By the end of the game there was a touch of cold weather in the air,but still nothing players and fans are accustomed to this time of year.
Battle of the Upstate Format: This tournament creates an exciting environment for a number of teams across the upstate. This year’s field is comprised of twelve teams and is hosted by four different sites (Laurens, Greenville, Hillcrest, and Greenwood). Games for this event started last Friday and will stretch until this coming Friday (March 3). With the number of teams that compete in this event, it is appreciated the time and commitment to all involved to allow this event to take place.
