Scout Day: Aiken Hornets

By: David List – February 8, 2010

Sunshine finally covered the landscape on Monday and it allowed DP to get out and do a scout day at Aiken High School. The Hornets would bring a very different look to the field this year after losing 7 players to graduation, five of which started regularly. Key losses for the Hornets included Thomas Timmerman and Greg Milanes. Also the twin speedsters in the outfield, Hunter and Kessler Scott, will also be missed defensively.

Coach Luton is looking to his seniors Bryce Clifton, Bren Wilson, Spencer McCants and Bobby Haas for leadership and production this year. Junior Hanlon Maivelett and freshman Trey Roberts will also be counted on to produce and they look to be up to the challenge. Pitching depth will be the key to the success of this team in the upcoming season.
