Bio: Will Cheatham

cheathamtiger-masters.jpgWill Cheatham serves Diamond Prospects in the Midlands as an area scout.

Cheatham worked as the pitching coach for Gilbert High School from 2012-2014 seasons, and is also an Associate Scout for the New York Mets organization. 

He served as the pitching coach for JL Mann Academy (2007-2008) where the Patriots entered the playoffs for the first time in 30 years under head coach Brian Simpson in 2007. Under Cheatham’s instruction JL Mann sent six pitchers to the next level. In 2012 in his first season with Gilbert, the Indians won the AA State Championship.

In addition to game coverage and working DP showcases, Cheatham assists Diamond Prospects with the Diamond King Watch List, Player of the Week Award and Regional Standings.

Cheatham is from Lexington, SC where he played for Coach Tommy Williams and won back-to-back region titles in 2001 and 2002. cheathamfam-12.jpgHe was signed a letter of intent with Anderson University where he played four years serving in many different roles on the pitching staff. He was voted the team's Most Valuable Pitcher in 2004. In 2006, he served as one of Anderson’s team captains.

Cheatham is an employee of First Community Bank in Lexington, SC where he lives with his wife Mandy, sons Tanner & Walker.
