After laying eyes on 22 different clubs during week one, we hit the road running again in week two allowing us to lock in on 24 more teams. Monday night we made the trip down to Emerald HS as they hosted a double dip with crosstown rival Greenwood. Tuesday we split up and saw eight clubs that consisted of: Gaffney 1/2, Greer 1/2, Hillcrest 1/2 and Wade Hampton 1/2. We ended the week with a bang as we locked in on twelve different teams: Spartanburg 1/2, Chesnee, Union, Easley, TL Hanna 1/2, Pickens, Eastside #2, Riverside #3, Liberty and Palmetto.
Once again, we were fortunate to have clear skies that allowed all teams in our league to play but the heat was cranked up all week as games started in the low-90’s/upper-80’s but when the sun set fans, players, coaches and evaluators left the park and observed the late games with comfortable conditions.
As the league begins to unfold, the number of young players in the division has been impressive to watch! As always, it is great to see these young guys get their first taste of high school baseball and some are quite successful. Our hope is that these experiences will allow programs to be successful down the road! The second edition of the 2022 Upstate Fall League recap is below and take the time to enjoy what our trio of evaluators laid eyes on this week!
