It was the second night of league play and the opener for the two Blue Eagles and two Cougar teams at York Comprehensive HS last night. And even though the York school has been there a number of years now, the campus still looks more like that of a small college than a high school. The baseball field was in very good shape as well with a lush covering of grass only slightly less green from a legit lack of rain in the area.
The first contest found the Blue Eagles-Killian “nine” coming out on top of the Cougars B squad. The nightcap resulted in the opposite result – Cougars A over Blue Eagles-Clinton. It was a sometimes long and sometimes well-played night of baseball. In the end, there were plenty of opportunities for players to face the challenges and intricacies that this game always affords and to gain from those on-field, game action experiences.
