As we wrap up week one of the fall league, another full slate of games was on hand for viewers. Tonight we took a trip to Historic Duncan Park as both Vikings teams hosted the Blazers and Eagles #1. When it comes to facelifts, Duncan Park continues to get one year after year turning this place into something really special.
Game one featured the young bucks of Spartanburg facing off against one of our first year teams in the league, the Blazers of Greer Middle College. Game two gave us a more varsity type atmosphere with the Eagles of Eastside battling it out versus the older group of Spartanburg.
Top Notch Facility: As mentioned above, Duncan Park has history and every time you walk in you can feel it. Over the past couple of years, they have been renovating this great venue. I have been to my fair share of prep facilities around the state, but I have to say Duncan Park now takes the cake. Not too many college facilities have what they have and more is to come. The newest editions include: complete resurface of the field, extended dugouts and by far the best clubhouse at the prep level I have seen complete with mudroom, shower room, training room, coaches office, ping pong table, flat screen tv’s with live on field feed and lockers that include built-in outlets and USB ports; all illuminated with lights. If you get a chance to check it out, it is a must see.
