-Mingo Bay action in Myrtle-
Picturesque weather welcomed 96 teams to the grand Strand on Monday to crank up the 28th Annual Mingo Bay Classic at 10 different high schools in Horry and Georgetown Counties. The field pitted 27 in-state teams and featured clubs up and down the East Coast, even extending as far west as Ohio.
The schools are split into two divisions, play four pool games, then are seeded following Thursday’s action before entering a championship format. Diamond Prospects is accustomed to camping out in places where two South Carolina teams are pitted versus one another, in this case we saw one at a time in two venues. We were able to lock in Pendleton vs Horseheads (NY), May River vs Reagan (NC), Blue Ridge vs George Washington (VA) and then Carolina Forest vs Austintown-Fitch (OH).

Another point of note, much like most of this spring, weather has already and will again late in the week, cost us seeing teams. There have been dozens of clubs we have attempted to view multiple times, but to no avail when Mother Nature intervened.
As for this Monday, everything went off without a hitch at Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest High School’s, two beautiful playing surfaces to take in the action. Below is who stood out on this stage…
