Now that the scrimmage portion of the 2019 season has come to a close, DP will turn its attention to preseason tournaments as they kickoff all across the state. In the Upstate, rain has soaked the entire area all week and that is leaving diamonds drenched and standing water on the infield is the new norm. However, for two schools in Anderson County, that is not the case. Crescent High School was on schedule to host their inaugural Crescent Diamond Classic, but a saturated field changed those plans. TL Hanna was gracious enough at the last minute to play host due to the fact they are now the home of one of the few turf surfaces in our state. Just as the this week has gone, spotty showers hit the area all day but it did not keep the players off the field as a doubleheader was on tap to begin at 5:30.
