The 2018 season marks the eleventh edition of the DP Upstate Fall League and it is set up to be the most exciting season yet! This year, 43 teams across the Upstate will lock horns on weekday nights with the focus being development and evaluation. With those participating teams, 44 different high schools are represented and that will make a total of over 500 players. Over the next six weeks, DP will have time to evaluate and identify some of the best talent this area has to offer.
With scattered showers blanketing the Upstate, we were able to get ten teams off and running at five different sites. Tonight, DP set hunkered down at Riverside High School to watch Warriors 1 & 3 face off with Vikings 1 & 2 out of Spartanburg High School. When strolling into the park, Riverside HC Michael Pettit had some quality tunes echoing over the sound system and the field was in great condition for early September. Along with the PA music, you have the Riverside High School band blasting some music on the practice field to make it a unique setting for fall baseball. Overall, 14 quality innings were taken in tonight and both clubs played the game with enthusiasm and great energy.
