-Prospects, wind, runs galore steal show at IP-
The 28th Annual International Paper Classic, or The IP as it is affectionately called, was held at Mike Johnson Park in Georgetown from Thursday to Sunday with eight teams hailing from every corner of South Carolina. Participants in the tournament field were as follows: Bishop England, Blythewood, Boiling Springs, Georgetown, Hartsville, South Florence, Summerville and TL Hanna.
Our man Derrick was scouring the neighborhood for foul balls, Coach Johnson was doing his usual fieldwork, legit BBQ (provided by Rodney & Jason Ward, Russ Graham & Howard Bunn) had teams and scouts hanging out under the tents wanting more, chicken bog (or purrr-low if in G-town) was the Saturday treat, old-school music plus good 'ole beach tunes rang out over the speakers, legit chili dogs and nachos (say no more), 'Jesus Saves' stood strong by the batters eye and people flocked to this quaint old ballpark settled in a city block under sunny skies once more...these are the times you know that life is good and it's time for baseball at The IP Classic!
