A bittersweet night at Conestee Park took place this evening. This is our fourth year holding games at the wagon wheel, which is a blessing, but this was our first doing it without our dear friend Jeff Young who we unexpectedly lost this past July. Four years ago, JY came to us with an idea that we should hold a scout night at Conestee Park during our DP Fall League. Not only was it his idea but just as JY usually would do, he said he would set it all up for us. Without a blink of an eye, we all agreed it would be a great thing. JY took pride in making sure gates were open and the venue was ready to roll when we got to the park. Not one time did he ever ask for anything in return. Knowing him for many years, it made him happy just to see kids playing a game they loved. Words can’t describe the feeling we had tonight but we knew he was smiling down on us the entire evening. R.I.P our good friend…you’ll never, ever be forgotten!
