After a slight delay to the schedule due to Hurricane Irma, the Diamond Prospects’ Fall League kicked off its 10th season in the Upstate with six games on tap. This year’s league features 25 teams with 21 different schools represented. Over the next five weeks, the DP staff will lay eyes on 275+ players in the Upstate that hail from seven counties stretching as far north as Oconee County down to as far south as Newberry County. Teams are scheduled to play six games over the next five weeks. The season will conclude with an All-Star game on the campus of Clemson University in mid-October!
Over the next few weeks, numerous players across the Upstate will solidify their status, some upperclassmen will burst on the scene, and we will also have the opportunity to get a snapshot of the incoming 2021 class. Regardless, the following weeks will provide coaches an opportunity to develop their players and give DP the opportunity to catch the action!
Tonight, there are double headers on the slate at JL Mann, Byrnes, and Dorman High School. On this night, DP made the trip to the campus of Dorman High School to lock in the three teams: Generals, MC Rebels, and the two Cavalier squads. After a wet and windy few days, the skies have cleared and have provided excellent temperatures to kick off the 2017 season.
