This afternoon, DP made the trip to Oconee County to take in the first game of the 3A State Championship. Seneca was making its first state championship appearance in 30 years while Bishop England was making their first trip back since 2013. Today’s affair began at 2:00 under cloudy skies as temps sat in the high 60’s; great weather for some playoff baseball. The fans jammed in to Coach Mac Field with noisemakers, megaphones, flags, and even had some blow ups for the fans to toss around in between innings. All of this made an exciting atmosphere for a matchup between two solid clubs. Play was done at a lightning quick pace as teams played clean baseball and competed very well in the diamond in a game every kid in uniform has dreamed of since they began playing this game.
