My name is Billy Barlow and I am seventeen years old from Florence, SC. I moved to Little River, SC June 2018 to attend North Myrtle Beach High School. I have been playing sports since I was six years old. Being the only boy in a family with three sisters, my dad got me started playing football and baseball in the rec ball league as soon as I was old enough. It quickly developed into my passion. I was selected to play with the all-star team each year after my first year of baseball. My team placed 2nd in state (machine pitch), and two years later we won the state championship where I pitched the last inning to close the game 1-0. I knew pitching was for me when I realized the pressure didn’t get to me. Later that year, we went to the Dixie Youth World Series where we were the runners-up.
I enjoyed playing travel baseball as well. I was fortunate enough to play in several elite 32 events in Florida as well as winning the Cooperstown event going undefeated during the week-long tournament. Once I turned 14, I started playing showcase baseball with a few different organizations and got to know a number of different players. These were some of the best years of my life learning the game, competing and meeting lifelong friends across the country. Thanks to Diamond Prospects’ Palmetto Games, I verbally committed to play baseball at Clemson University September of my sophomore year of high school. Go Tigers!
